Wondering how to vote and who can?

Official information is found at this link:

Town of Sylvan Lake Elections Page,

WHO CAN VOTE?
You can vote, if you are a resident of the Town of Sylvan Lake.
There is no longer a "waiting period" as in years gone by.

You can own your own home or rent. You are a resident either way.

Bring your ID, or picture ID with a utility bill showing you are tied to an address in Sylvan Lake.

Direct all questions about this to the town (403-887-2141), or be prepared to ask questions with patience at the polling station.

Those who have two residences in Alberta may vote in Sylvan Lake, but not in both locations. People can declare their voting residency based on their interests, not what amount of time you live in one or the other location. However, if there is a byelection in your other community before the next general election, you have to stick with Sylvan lake as your voting residence until the next general municipal election, four years from now. Direct any and all questions to the Municipal Government Building, Returning Officer.
